Discover Volunteering

Our Community Lead & Grants Manager, Justine Belcher dropped into the Discover Volunteering event at All Saints Church last week.

Organised by the Royal Borough of Kingston (RBK) Council to offer residents the chance to meet with like-minded people and local charities and organisations, the event was a great opportunity for us to meet some of our lovely grantees.

Justine said: "What a wonderful event organised by RBK! It was great to meet up with lots of our lovely grantees, local heroes in our shared community. I had the great honour to meet some of RBKares, incredible ladies and their families from the sewing group for refugees, truly inspirational.

Our lovely friends from New Era and Save the World Club were also there and Des was fabulously dressed as a house plant, spreading the word about the importance of recycling and bringing joy and fun to the world.

There was so much love and kindness in the church that evening with local choirs singing and people hugging and catching up with each other, it was really lovely. I felt very proud to be there as a representative of Kingston Community Foundation, knowing that our grants are making a real impact for these charities and community groups in our wonderful Borough."
