Fun in the sun at Celebrate Chessington

Justine Belcher, our Community Lead and Grants Manager, spent a sunny afternoon at the wonderful Celebrate Chessington community event last week.

The event has been running since 2009 and was originally developed so that local residents from the Garrison Lane Estate could access information from local organisations. The event has grown each year and offers an entertaining day out for families during half-term, as well as a friendly place for residents to meet up over a cup of tea and access information and support, in a relaxed and informal setting at little or no cost.

Justine says: "This is such a wonderful community event.  I went along to support our incredible grantee New Era CIC who had a stall selling raffle tickets and distributing pantry staples such as bread and pasta. I was delighted to bump into our fabulous Mayor, next to the gorgeous miniature horses. A great day was had by all in the glorious sunshine."
